Ealing Council has appointed Park Royal Partnership Chief Executive Shelley Adams as its new Executive Director Strategy and Development.

 

Shelley, who has lived in Ealing for the past 13 years, brings a wealth of local knowledge and experience to the council, having worked in the public, private and not for profit sectors.   She will join the council on June 6.

 

She said: �I am delighted to be joining Ealing as it's a very important and exciting period of change for the council. The new Response programme will transform the way we deliver services to residents, and will really make a difference to their lives.

 

�The staff here care about the services they deliver, and I'm really looking forward to working with them. Ealing is a great place to live and work, and I am excited about continuing to lead an imaginative and customer focused change programme as well as strengthening external partnerships.�

 

Shelley has a very impressive track record of company turnaround, delivering change and being able to motivate teams. She also has considerable experience of developing customer-focused services.

 

She successfully led regeneration agency the Park Royal Partnership (PRP), responsible for London's largest industrial and commercial park, for three and a half years and developed its 10-year strategy.

 

She secured a substantial 3 year funding   package for PRP last year and leaves it with a strong forward funding strategy. One of her greatest achievements has been increasing business membership for PRP by 56% in the last three years, as well as building strong relationships with public sector partners. She is leaving as PRP launches an innovative training and recruitment joint venture partnership with private and public sector partners.

 

Previously Shelley was Chief Executive of West London Training and Enterprise Council (TEC), where she also held the post of Director of Lifelong Learning, responsible for all of the TEC's adult and post 16 vocational training, workforce development, partnership and community development work.   She also had direct responsibility for marketing and HR.

 

Shelley worked at Ealing Council for 6 years in various roles including head of corporate strategy, and assistant chief officer in economic development. She worked in the private sector as a sales manager in the print industry, where she doubled sales turnover in one year.

 

Chief Executive Gillian Guy said: �We are delighted that Shelley Adams will be joining us as Executive Director Strategy and Development.   Appointing somebody of Shelley's calibre is a major coup for the Council.   She has vast experience, knowledge and understanding and will be a great asset to the organisation.�

 

Shelley Adams is the first executive director to be appointed to the new corporate board at Ealing Council.   In the coming months the council will also be appointing to the roles of Chief Executive, Executive Director for Finance and Business Support, Executive Director for Customer Services, and the Executive Director for Individual Customers.
