Days will be changed through to second week of the New Year
Ealing Council collections are affected through the Christmas period
February 22, 2024
Residents should expect some changes to the way their bins are collected in the coming weeks. Across the festive period, bins will be collected on different dates to those we are used to throughout the year with normal collection days not being restored until 13 January 2025.
These changes allow for councils to work around the festive bank holidays whilst allowing employees some rest over the holiday.
Ealing Council have announced the following changes to the usual schedule:
Scheduled Collection Day | Revised Collection Day |
---|---|
Monday, December 23 | Monday, December 23 |
Tuesday, December 24 | Tuesday, December 24 |
Wednesday, December 25 | Friday, December 27 |
Thursday, December 26 | Saturday, December 28 |
Friday, December 27 | Monday, December 30 |
Monday, December 30 | Tuesday, December 31 |
Tuesday, December 31 | Thursday, January 2 |
Wednesday, January 1 | Friday, January 3 |
Thursday, January 2 | Saturday, January 4 |
Friday, January 3 | Monday, January 6 |
Monday, January 6 | Tuesday, January 7 |
Tuesday, January 7 | Wednesday, January 8 |
Wednesday, January 8 | Thursday, January 9 |
Thursday, January 9 | Friday, January 10 |
Friday, January 10 | Saturday, January 11 |
Normal collection schedule resumes on Monday, January 13.
Between Monday, January 6 and Friday January, 24, those who use the black and blue wheeled bins can leave their real Christmas trees on the front edge of their property for collection.
Trees will be collected on the same day as your revised rubbish collection (black bin) each alternate week.
Tree trunks must not exceed 20cm in diameter, or be more than six feet tall (taller trees can be cut in two). Residents are asked to ensure all decorations are removed.
If you live in a flat or use a communal bin service you will have to take your real tree to one of the councils parks or open spaces. This runs until Friday 24 January 2025.
