Ealing Labour Launch Election Manifesto

' For the many not the few'.... countdown to May 3rd

With the local elections only a few weeks away Labour will be hoping they can increase their hold on Ealing Council.

They've launched their manifesto which claims to be 'for the many'. It can be read here.

Labour say they want to increase the number of 'genuinely affordable homes', give people a decent living income and have 'healthy people and thriving neighbourhoods.'

In Ealing the government has cut almost 65% of the council's revenue budget and£265 million of savings need to be found by 2020.

This is the context in which Labour say they are making their pledges to the Borough in 2018.

Council Leader Julian Bell said:

“Over the past eight years Ealing Labour have never shied away from tackling the big issues facing our Borough. Whether building new homes to tackle London’s housing crisis, enhancing our green spaces, campaigning to save our hospitals or fighting to keep us in Europe; we will always be on the side of local residents. This manifesto is a firm foundation upon which we want to build on our record in Ealing and when voters head to the polling stations on May 3rd I hope they continue to support our vision for the Borough.”

Cllr Peter Mason, Cabinet member & manifesto co-ordinator said:

“As the democratically elected representatives of Ealing, we know that we are elected not just to run the council, but to lead the Borough. We will always ensure that we protect the most vulnerable in our society first, and work to make our Borough more equal. This can only be achieved in the spirit of cooperation, where we work together with residents, businesses, voluntary groups, charities, unions and across the public sector.
