Ealing Liberal Democrats Gear Up For Battle

Launch manifesto for 2018 Local Elections

Ealing Liberal Democrats were joined last weekend by Liberal Democrat London Assembly Member Caroline Pigeon MBE to launch their campaign for May’s Council elections.

The Liberal Democrats are the only party currently represented on Ealing Council who oppose Brexit and are calling on local people to use their vote to send a strong signal to Theresa May that they oppose her version of a hard Brexit.

As well as pushing for an Exit from Brexit, Liberal Democrats on Ealing Council have promised to use their votes to push for weekly street cleaning, a safer Ealing by not closing police stations, protect local health services by not downgrading or closing our hospitals, deliver truly affordable homes and social housing, engage with residents and be tough with developers, develop a flagship dementia-friendly borough, prevent an expansion of Heathrow Airportand are against unfair Council Tax increases.

Commenting at the launch, Ealing Council Liberal Democrat Group Leader Cllr Gary Malcolm said:

“With the country careering to wards a hard Brexit, local people should use their vote to send a message to the Prime Minister. With both Labour and Tories backing an extreme version of Brexit, only the Liberal Democrats offer a viable alternative. With so many local people opposed to Brexit, we’re confident of increasing our presence on the council, but it will only happen if people go out and vote Lib Dem on 3rd May.”
