A man is in a critical condition after being assaulted on Acton High Street on Friday night (August 19th).

At around 9.45 police received a call about the incident which occurred near the junction with Crown Street. A man in his forties had received serious head injuries and had to be taken to hospital where his condition is described as serious.

Two people have been arrested in connection with the inquiry - a male and female. They are in custody at a west London police station. Police are keeping an open mind regarding the motive and are appealing for witnesses.
