Pear Tree Park Bistro Opens in Perivale
Local chefs aim to transform café into vibrant community hub

A new bistro has opened in Pear Tree Park, offering visitors a welcoming space to eat, relax and connect in the heart of Perivale. The newly launched Pear Tree Park Bistro, run by local chefs Diana Zajdel and Paolo Luongo, has transformed the park’s former café into a vibrant restaurant serving everything from pizzas and pastries to breakfasts, lunches and dinners.
The opening marks another milestone in the ongoing transformation of Pear Tree Park — one of ten new parks being created by Ealing Council by 2026. The park itself, roughly the size of 30 football pitches, was officially opened in July 2024 and named by Brentside Primary Academy pupils Mahad and Taim.
Diana, who lives in Perivale, described the launch as a personal milestone: “As chefs, it’s a dream come true to open our own restaurant.” The bistro is designed to be more than just a place to eat. It includes a dedicated community space for meetings and events, and features a grand piano, live music and plans for yoga classes, positioning it as a cultural and social hub for residents and local businesses.
Councillor Blerina Hashani, cabinet member for thriving communities, attended the opening and praised the team’s efforts: “What a great addition the bistro is to Pear Tree Park. There’s a fantastic community spirit in Perivale and so it was important that we found people who share the council’s vision of putting community at the heart of Pear Tree Park. Diana and Paolo have done a great job at creating a welcoming space for visitors and I’m excited to see it flourish.”
Pear Tree Park is also undergoing a major rewilding effort. Earlier this year, volunteers helped plant 5,000 trees, and the council’s parks team has added climate-resistant trees, flowers and plants to support biodiversity and climate resilience.
The park will eventually form part of the proposed West London Regional Park, which will stretch from Horsenden Hill in the north to Warren Farm in the south, creating a continuous green corridor across the borough.
Councillor Hashani added: “Having access to green space, nature and wildlife is essential for everyone’s wellbeing, and our ongoing work to rewild the borough and protect against climate change by planting thousands of trees and expanding our parks network means more people than ever can benefit from these vital spaces.”
