A car, suspected to be stolen, has collided with a night bus in the early hours of Wednesday (7 April) after a police pursuit.

At around 2.45am the police attempted to stop an Audi on Acton High Street but the vehicle sped off before the collision which took place at the junction of Uxbridge Road and Hamilton Road near The Sir Michael Balcon pub in Ealing.

The driver of the bus was taken to hospital with injuries that were described as minor but the three occupants of the car were unharmed despite the vehicle being badly damaged.

Three men have been arrested on suspicion of burglary and theft.

A spokesperson for the London Fire Brigade said, "Firefighters were called to a road traffic collision on Hamilton Road in Ealing in the early hours of this morning. One car collided with a bus.

"The Brigade was called at 2.49am and the incident was over for firefighters by 3.30am.

"Two fire engines from Ealing and Acton fire stations and a fire rescue unit from Wembley Fire Station attended the scene."
