Police routine stops lead to searches
Two men from Acton were recently arrested and charged with drugs offences by Ealing Borough Police. The arrests are part of a continued fight against Drugs and Anti social behaviour in Ealing Borough.
At 1.00pm on Tuesday 6th November, plain clothes Drugs Squad officers from Ealing Borough arrested a man for drugs offences following a routine stop on the South Acton Estate.
When he spotted the officers the man was seen throwing something away which was retrieved and found to contain 39 wraps of heroin and 9 wraps of crack cocaine.
Officers then carried out a search at the man's address in Barwick House, Strafford Road under Section 23 of the misuse of Drugs Act.
A 24yr old man from Acton was charged with two offences for possession with intent to supply class A drugs under the misuse of drugs act 1971. He pleaded not guilty at Ealing Magistrates court on 7th November and was given conditional bail to re-appear on 19th December.
In a second arrest, plain clothes Drugs Squad officers from Ealing Borough arrested two juveniles for drugs offences following a routine stop on the South Acton Estate. The two were arrested at 10:30am on Thursday 22nd November.
Detective Sergeant Craig Leonard, Ealing Police spokesperson said: "We are determined to tackle drugs and anti social behaviour in partnership with the community and other agencies to help make Ealing Borough a safer place to live, work and pass through.
"These latest arrests should serve as a warning to those who wish to engage in this damaging criminal enterprise, as they will never know with any certainty when and where my officers are deployed.
