Acton residents have welcomed the opening of a brand-new Post Office branch this Tuesday (29 July), now operating seven days a week at Chatime, a bubble tea café.
The new branch has been established to enhance convenience for the local community, with services available for 75 hours each week. Customers can access a range of Post Office facilities including bill payments, cash withdrawals, postage, and the collection and return of online shopping items. The branch also supports everyday banking transactions for customers of major UK banks.
Designed in a contemporary open-plan style, the service point is fully integrated into the café’s serving counter. Opening hours are Monday to Friday from 8am to 8pm, Saturday from 9am to 6pm, and Sunday from 11am to 5pm.
The new facility is intended to complement nearby Post Office services at The Vale and Horn Lane.
Mohammed Islam, Post Office Area Change Manager, said, “We want to make it as easy as possible for customers to pay their bills, withdraw cash from their bank accounts, and send and collect their mail at a time and place that suits them best. We know how important our services are to customers, and we are confident that this brand-new Post Office will ensure that people in this area of Acton have easy access to our services.”
Chatime and the Post Office are at 96 High Street, W3 6QX.
The main Post Office moved out of Acton in October 2018 and, apart from a few months in 2021 when a counter was opened at the northern end of Gunnersbury Lane in a branch of Budgens, the High Street area has been without Post Office services since.
