Waste Not Want Not

Have your say on the future of West London’s waste

West London Waste Plan: Proposed Sites and Policies Consultation is now live and is looking for your views.

Six west London Boroughs - Brent, Ealing, Harrow, Hillingdon, Hounslow and Richmond upon Thames - have joined together to plan for their future waste.

The West London Waste Plan (WLWP) will plan for all waste in the plan area up to 2025. It will identify sufficient sites to deal with this waste. The Plan will also contain policy to support site development and awareness of sustainable waste management. It will give priority to waste reduction, recycling and composting. However, it will still need to plan for disposal of waste in other ways.

The Plan aims to make the most of existing waste sites. It identifies 10 existing waste transfer stations and depots which could be changed into waste management facilities. It also identifies 14 new sites which could be used for waste management facilities.

A drop in session has been arranged by Officers on 1st March 2011 between 1pm – 8pm at the Civic Centre, Hounslow, Lampton Road, TW3 4DN where anyone interested in the Plan is welcome to come along and discuss the proposals.

The consultation period runs from 9:00am on the 9th of February 2011 until 5:00pm on the 25th of March 2011. You can comment on the report, and on issues for waste in west London by either:
