Local Councillor Starts Jigsaw Puzzle Swap Group

Southfield Lib Dem Gary Malcolm on keeping boredom at bay

Trying to balance staying indoors whilst working and keeping safe from Coronavirus, many of us are finding having fun harder than ever. Southfield Councillor Gary Malcolm has set up a new puzzle and jigsaw group for Chiswick and Acton with a Facebook group so people can swap puzzles safely.

Liberal Democrat Councillor Garysaid: “After completing my first 500-piece puzzle I saw many other retailers did not do internet sales or had closed their doors due to the Coronavirus so I set up my own group.

"The Liberal Democrats have always championed mental health care, and at this time when so many of us are working from home or in self isolation, it is crucial we keep active and keep our spirits high. Let’s turn boredom into fun!”

His first puzzle whilst in lock down, was a 500-piece jigsaw of the map of London, seen pictured above.

The Facebook group he set up can be accessed here:He has just done his first swap, for a puzzle of a cat.

Cllr Malcolm says: "The idea is for us to post photos of puzzles and jigsaws you have and then privately arrange for a swap. No money should exchange hands. We will swap by leaving jigsaws and puzzles, that have been cleansed, on our doorsteps for a safe collection (no one will therefore be within 2 metres of the person collecting a puzzle)."
