Hogarth Group CEO killed in swimming accident

The chief executive of the West London based Hogarth Group, Patrick White, has been killed in a swimming accident whilst on holiday in the Seychelles. The company owns local health clubs including the Park Club in Acton and the Hogarth Health Club in Chiswick.

A statement from the family was issued as follows:

'It is with overwhelming grief and sadness that we have to announce the death of Patrick White, husband of Sarah, father of Elspeth, Katie and Harry, youngest son of Colin and Joan White and brother to Dan.

Patrick was the most loving, caring and thoughtful husband, and daddy, who absolutely adored his family above all else. To his many friends, family and colleagues he was a man of superlatives, his intellect, his wit, his incredible knowledge, his kindness, his generosity, and his many talents far outweigh those of us who are mere mortals.

Patrick took Sarah, Elspeth, Katie and Harry to The Seychelles to celebrate their 10th wedding anniversary. In the second week he arranged a complete surprise by bringing out Sarah's mother and her husband to share in the celebrations. On the last day of their holiday whilst swimming and snorkelling, strong currents forced Patrick into the rocky shore and caused his tragic death by drowning.

Needless to say, Patrick, the most organised of men, left concise instructions relating to his "Funerary Arrangements". He required us to provide a "a sung Requiem Mass, as ridiculously formal as possible." This has been arranged with Fouré's Requiem sung by members of King's College Chapel Choir and other soloists of which he would certainly approve.'

The family wish to thank everyone for their kind messages of solace and for the many gifts of flowers. For the funeral the family request is not for flowers, but for donations to a Barclays Account which will be entitled "The Patrick White Churchyard Memorial Fund".

Donations will be accepted at the church, and all cheques delivered or posted to The Patrick White Churchyard Memorial Fund, c/o The Hogarth Group, Airedale Avenue Chiswick W4 2NW, will be acknowledged.

The Fund will be spent in the very necessary restoration of the St Nicholas Churchyard. This is a cause which was very close to Patrick's heart and Funds will be used totally in accordance with the wishes of the Parochial Church Council.
