Councillor Farhaan Rehman's Lamborghini has been seen in a disabled parking spot on at least two occasions
November 24, 2025
A Hounslow councillor has apologised after the Local Democracy Reporting Service (LDRS) revealed that a Lamborghini SUV belonging to him had parked in a disabled bay twice without a blue badge.
Cllr Farhaan Rehman, a member of the local Labour party, has also resigned from his position as Chair of the council’s Licensing and General Purposes Committee. He will also voluntarily donate £160 to the Mayor’s charity rather than be served a fine. This is the amount members of the public are usually fined in Hounslow for parking in a disabled bay without a blue badge on display.
He will remain a Labour councillor, and continues to be a candidate for Hounslow Labour at the 2026 elections. This comes at a time when several Labour councillors feel they are being “unfairly” deselected in the borough.
The councillor initially did not respond to a request from the LDRS for comment. However, on Monday (November 24) he said: “I have written to the Leader and Chief Executive to offer my apologies.
“Although this is not a public car park, I recognise that councillors should uphold the highest standards as elected representatives and that our actions should serve as a model for the behaviour we want to encourage throughout the borough. I will therefore be contributing £160 to the Mayor’s chosen charities and have offered my resignation as the Chair of the Licensing and General Purposes Committee.”
Hounslow Labour says it has been investigating the matter and has itself issued a statement.
“Since being alerted to this matter, Councillor Rehman has apologised to the Leader and Chief Executive Officer and has offered his resignation as Chair of the Licensing and General Purposes Committee. Both his apologies and resignation have been accepted.
“The Labour Group has reminded Cllr Rehman of the high standards expected of a Labour Councillor and has given formal advice as to his future conduct.”
Having resigned from his role as a Committee Chair, Cllr Rehman will also lose his £8,322 top up to his annual councillor allowance. He will maintain his basic councillor allowance of £12,730.
Originally revealed by the LDRS, the story became national news over the weekend, with outlets all over the country reporting on the incident involving the light blue Lamborghini Urus SE SUV, worth over £200,000. This is the second time in two weeks Hounslow Council has become a national topic after a nurse was fined £1,000 for ‘fly-tipping’ an envelope – a penalty the council continues to pursue payment of.
Last week, Conservative councillor for Chiswick Homefields, Jack Emsley, told the LDRS he believes Cllr Rehman should be deselected as a Labour candidate ahead of the 2026 local elections, if he is found to have breached parking rules.
