Covid deaths have risen in the borough Ealing, as the number of new cases fell across West London.

Seven people died in the local authority area within 28 days of a positive coronavirus result in the week between 2 and 8 August, rising from one the week before.

Hounslow saw deaths rise from one to four.

At Ealing, Northwick Park and Central Middlesex hospitals, 78 people were admitted, five more than the week before.

On 3 August, 106 patients in the three hospitals had coronavirus and 17 were on mechanical ventilators.

Chelsea and Westminster Hospital and West Middlesex University Hospital saw 61 people admitted, up from 46 previously.

Ealing saw 1,049 new cases while Hounslow had 730, both decreasing slightly from the week before.

London’s weekly new cases per 100,000 people was 268 between 29 July and 4 August, dropping by 16 from the previous week.
