Commuter's Laptop Stolen At Knifepoint

"Conceal what you are carrying” advise local Police

A 26-year-old male was robbed at knifepoint as he made his way home from the tube station.

The victim left Acton Town station at 21.45 on Friday 24th January and made his way along Gunnersbury Lane, Princes Avenue, The Ridgeway and then into Park Drive.

He was approached by two suspects one of whom produced a knife. The victim was told not to yell and the second suspect grabbed the laptop from him. The suspects then asked him if he had anything else and the victim handed over his phone and cash.

The suspects ran off north towards The Ridgeway. The first suspect is described as a black male, 5'11" wearing dark clothing including a hoodie. The second suspect is also described as a black male, 5'11" wearing dark clothing.

DI Jeff Minns said, “I dealt with a similar knife point robbery in DuCane Road, Hammersmith, where the victim was carrying a laptop. Only that time, the victim died in hospital with a knife wound to his heart.

"It is absolutely essential people avoid carrying this type of property, overtly at least. Every week some one is robbed of their mobile, laptop or other property, which is carried over the shoulder or in the hand. I know it is difficult and inconvenient, but please try to take the spot light away from yourself and conceal what you are carrying”

Anyone witnesses or anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call Hounslow CID in confidence on 0208 247 6160/5940 or Crime Stoppers 0800 5551111 anonymously quoting crime reference 0501882/08.
