With the cost of living at record highs, hundreds of families in the area are facing a difficult festive season. To help ease the pressure, Hounslow Community FoodBox has launched its annual Christmas Fundraising Appeal, aiming to provide emergency food support for around 900 adults and children this December.

The charity, which has been supporting local residents since 2013, is calling on the community to donate food or funds to ensure families struggling to put meals on the table can still enjoy some festive cheer.

Donations can be made by visiting volunteer collectors at:

  • Brentford Market on Sunday 7 December
  • Gtech Community Stadium on Sunday 14 December , when Brentford FC hosts Leeds United

Funds raised will go towards essential provisions and seasonal gift bags, bringing both practical support and a touch of joy to households in need.

FoodBox’s Board of Trustees said: “Christmas can be a tough time financially for many families who are struggling to put food on the table. With your help, Hounslow FoodBox aims to provide essential provisions as well as some festive cheer in our seasonal gift bags.”

Founded in 2012 and delivering emergency food support since April 2013, Hounslow FoodBox was created in response to rising poverty levels in the borough. Each year, the number of people supported has grown, with volunteers providing not only food but also guidance to help residents get back on track.

The charity’s success stories continue to inspire its team of volunteers, who dedicate their time to try to ensure no one in the borough goes hungry.

You can support the charity by making a donation through its JustGiving page.
