St Benedict's Dance Show Raises Funds for Acton Homeless Concern

Mayor's charity benefits from performance by over two hundred dancers

Almost 200 dancers aged 5 to 17 from St Benedict’s in Ealing performed in Stepping Stones – a dance production of journey and discovery this month.

The show’s itinerary included a trip to the jungle and outer space, as tiny dancers took on the role of explorers and astronauts. Older pupils danced their way through snowy Narnia and Alice’s Wonderland, and gracefully galloped through dance cultures across the world and through the decades. Parents of a certain age really appreciated the nostalgic ‘80s soundtrack!

The choreography was quirky, imaginative and fun, and demanded lots of energy and drama from St Benedict’s dancers. It was a vibrant production, with colourful costumes and lighting creating a brilliant spectacle on stage. Excellent compering from two old boys who are now Drama students – Rory Hobson and James Porter – added to the show’s sense of style.

The dance show was attended by the Mayor of Ealing, Councillor Dr Patricia Walker, and proceeds from ticket sales were donated to her chosen charity, Acton Homeless Concern.
