Ealing's Police Chief Honours Officers and Families

Chief Superintendent Paul Martin on recent awards ceremony

Police awards ceremony with Borough Commander

I hosted a very special event on the 2nd August, the Ealing Commendation Ceremony, pictured above.

This is a very special event where I am always honoured to present awards to officers, members of staff and most notably members of the public for a whole range of things from outstanding professionalism, bravery, complex investigative work and much much more.

In my speech this year I paid very special tribute to the families of award winners, who are often the bedrock of support which allows my officers to perform to the highest standards, often in demanding and challenging circumstances. Without the support of loved ones, most of us couldn’t come to work each day knowing that we could face any number of difficult situations, many of which can be extremely distressing or dangerous.

I always say that this job isn't just a job, or a role, its an adventure because every day really does bring something different. It can occasionally be dangerous, it can occasionally be highly stressful, but it is very rewarding indeed. I am so proud of everyone for the work and achievements that earned them a commendation and so very proud to be part of such a fantastic borough.

I also want to thank our special guest for the event, Richard Kornicki CBE DL, Representative Deputy Lieutenant for the London Borough of Ealing for taking the time to be part of our proud day.

You can see pictures from the day in the gallery section of my blog
