Police Appeal for Witnesses - Stabbings in Warple Way and Kingswood Road


Two individual attacks on the 7th July, at 6:00 P.M. and 6:50 P.M.

Police are appealing for witnesses and information following two stabbings in Acton and Chiswick on Tuesday 7th July.

The first incident happened on Kingswood Road, W4.  A spokesperson for the Police said, "We were called at approximately 1800 on Tuesday 7 July to reports of a man injured on Kingswood Road, W4."

"We understand that a 58 year-old man was returning home from work whilst walking on Kingswood Road, near the South Acton British Rail Station, when he was approached and surrounded by four black boys in their mid to late teens."

The man was then assaulted by the boys during which he received laceration to the back of his right hand and a puncture wound to the top of his left leg.

The four teenagers ran off down Cunnington Road towards Acton Green, where they may have been joined by more youths, including females, the number of whom is not currently known.

The injured man was taken to a west London hospital in a stable / non-life threatening condition. He has since been discharged and is making a good recovery at home.

Police are also appealing for witnesses and information following a stabbing in on Warple Way W3 at approximately 18.50 again on Tuesday 7 July.

In a separate statement Police said, "We understand that a 25 year-old man was walking on Warple Way close to the junction with Valetta Road, when he was approached and surrounded by four black boys in their mid to late teens.

"One of the teenagers, who is described as 5'8" to 5'10" in height, of a slim build and wearing a green top, went on to demand the man's mobile phone.  The man was then assaulted, during which he received a stab wound to the chest."

The four teenagers ran off down Valetta Road towards Larden Road.

The victim was taken to a west London hospital in a serious but stable where he has undergone treatment. He has now been discharged and is recovering at home.

There have been no arrests and enquiries continue.

Detective Inspector Robert Cowland, from Ealing CID, said, "This was a serious unprovoked attack on an innocent member of the community. The police have made no connection between the two attacks at the present time.
