New lifts will make access easier
The refurbishment of Acton Town station is now almost complete, and the improvements have already made the station easier to use for disabled customers, and passengers with luggage.
Two new lifts recently came into service at 14:00 Monday 6 October, providing customers with step-free access to the station, and an accessible toilet has been installed.
In recent months, Transport for London's investment programme has delivered step-free access at Oakwood, Hendon Central, Finchley Central and Pinner stations. A new step-free station will soon be open at Wood Lane Golders Green and Roding Valley stations are also expected to have step-free access by the end of this year.
Other improvements at Acton Town also include a wide-aisle gate, a new ticket office and new information display boards. Signage has been replaced, and new CCTV and public announcement systems are in operation. The entire station has been repainted, with new Help points and improved lighting added.
