Changes To London Overground Services

Works signal disruption for rail passengers until December 2009

Changes to London Overground timetables signals disruption for rail passengers until the end of the year.

Transport for London (TfL) is currently upgrading the capital's overground train infrastructure. However, the work could lead to some inconvenience for passengers, particularly on Sundays.

From April 19, transport bosses will be closing the Richmond to Stratford line that skirts through the north of the borough, on most Sundays until December.

In addition, there will be two less trains on this line during peak times, Monday to Friday.

There will also be no service between Shepherds Bush and Willesden Junction on most Sundays until December. Trains will, however, run between Clapham Junction and Shepherds Bush once an hour, in both directions, all day.

Local Cllr Nicholas Botterill, said, "We urge TfL to carry out their upgrade work as quickly and efficiently as possible to minimise disruption. Timetable changes are hugely frustrating for rail passengers and we all look forward to the more frequent and reliable service that is promised."

During these closures, TfL will operate a replacement bus service on the Richmond to Stratford line.

Passengers who would usually travel by train between Shepherds Bush and Willesden Junction on Sundays are advised to catch the 220 bus which follows a similar route.
