Council Says 2018 Was Top Year For Ealing's Recycling

Regular collections will be changed over the holiday period

Ealing Council says 2018 has been the most successful year to date for recycling.

The latest figures show 52.86% of household waste is recycled across the borough, an increase from 51.02% compared to last year. It means that the council continues to progress toward its target of recycling 60% by 2022.

Councillor Mik Sabiers, cabinet member for environment and highways said: “Ealing has a fantastic record on recycling and with further improved rates seen this year, we are on our way to reaching our target of 60% by 2022.

“We remain the second best performing borough in London and I am grateful for the continued work of residents in their efforts to help us achieve so much.

“Residents’ usual rubbish and recycling collections will change over the Christmas and New Year period so please take a moment to check the revised dates to ensure your household waste is collected over Christmas.”

Residents also are advised that, collection days for recycling and rubbish will change over the Christmas period and return to normal service on Monday, 14 January

Real Christmas trees will be collected for recycling on certain days during January – or, alternatively, can be taken to a number of collection points around the borough in local parks.
