Old Actonians Set To Celebrate Centenary

2022 will mark the centenary year of Old Actonians and the club is planning a range of events to celebrate the landmark.
Old Actonians Cricket Club was formed in 1922 by a group of old boys from Acton County Grammar School, playing initially as Oakdene Cricket Club.
In 1925, the Old Actonians Association was formed (as an association for former pupils of the School), as was the Old Actonians Association Football Club and soon afterwards the cricket club changed its name to Old Actonians Cricket Club.
A working group at the club has been busy planning an action-packed year for the club both on and off the field.
The centenary will provide the platform for a fundraising drive to raise the money for permanent, electronic scoreboards for both the Main Ground and Boddington, that can be seen from everywhere on the ground, including from the pavilion.
There are a number of social and cricketing events lined up. There has already been a football match against Actonians FC. In April, there will be a return of the popular Comedy Night.
Another key event will be the Celebration Evening on 19 August after the Ex-Acts match which will round off a special Centenary Cricket Week, which will also see fixtures for the women and men against the respective MCC teams.
The club is also planning to start and end the season with tours to Nice and Kent/Sussex.
