Local mental health charity HFEH Mind has rebranded as West London Mind and expanded its services into Kensington & Chelsea and Westminster.

The move marks a major step in its mission to support communities across the capital. The change, which took effect on 1 April, means the organisation now operates across five boroughs: Hammersmith & Fulham, Ealing, Hounslow, Kensington & Chelsea and Westminster.

The rebrand reflects the charity’s growing footprint and builds on years of work supporting mental health across west London. Under its previous name, HFEH Mind delivered a wide range of services, from crisis support and counselling to youth mental health programmes, peer-led groups and community wellbeing initiatives. In Hammersmith & Fulham, Ealing and Hounslow, the charity has played a central role in suicide prevention work, school-based mental health support, and community outreach projects designed to reduce stigma and improve access to care. Its “Well at Work” programme has also helped employers across west London improve staff wellbeing, offering training, consultancy and mental health first aid.

The expansion brings two central London boroughs into the charity’s remit for the first time, with West London Mind planning to rapidly develop new services while extending existing programmes into the newly covered areas. The organisation will work closely with the North West London Mind Partnership, alongside Harrow, Hillingdon and Brent Minds, aiming to ensure consistent, high-quality support for residents across the whole of North West London.

Fiona Reddick, Director of Children and Young People’s Services, said the charity is eager to begin work in its new communities. “We look forward to supporting more children and young people in our new boroughs, and working closely with local authorities and our key partners within the ICS and NHS Trusts,” she said.

With the expansion, Well at Work will now be available to companies in Kensington & Chelsea and Westminster, giving more organisations access to training and support aimed at creating mentally healthy workplaces.

West London Mind says its priority is to ensure continuity for existing service users while widening access for residents in its new boroughs. The charity emphasises that its federated structure — part of the national Mind network but independently run — allows it to tailor services to local needs while maintaining national quality standards.

In a statement, the organisation said it “very much looks forward to supporting the mental health of many more Londoners while continuing to support our existing communities.”
