The management of Gunnersbury Park has confirmed that the park near the main entrance is to reopen in the coming months.
In a post on its web site, it says to expect ‘barista made coffee, delicious hot & cold food, bagels, burgers and more’ this Spring.
The new concession holder is to be Pure in the Park, a west London based food provider based in Greenford. When we spoke to Ilan Breger, the sole director of the company, he said he was very excited about the opening but wasn’t able to confirm a date.
It is linked to the 'Pure' chain of healthy food-to-go shops across London, offering salads, sandwiches, hot food, juices, snacks, and coffee. Mr Breger says that the cafe will operate independently of Pure Foods of London.
Gunnersbury Park CIC says there will be more details announced in the coming weeks.
The consultation period for an application for a new premises licence for the venue is now over and will be considered by the borough Licensing Panel in due course.
Mr Breger was anxious to stress that the extended hours applied for are to enable occasional late-night events and typically the café will not be open after dark.
The café has been closed since the recently constructed building burnt down in May 2020. Despite the structure being the same as originally approved, it looks like there will be a five year hiatus in the café’s operations in the park.
Since then another café has opened within the Putt in the Park facility. In addition, a number of vendors have been operating around the Large Mansion building. It is not known whether they will continue to be given permission to set up there.
