At Gunnersbury Park Sunday June 28th
Trampolining, kayaking and tennis are some of the free events on offer during a fun-filled afternoon where youngsters can meet a host of sports stars and try out some new activities.
The Sports Jam event, in Gunnersbury Park, Acton, will take place between 1-5pm on Sunday, 28 June and activities are aimed at six to 16 year olds. Sports personalities Olympic rower James Cracknell and footballer Rachel Yankey are among the celebrity guests at the event, which is run by Brentford FC Community Sports Trust, and supported by Ealing Council.
Other activities and attractions include:
• street dancing
• pitch and putt
• athletics
• netball, basketball and football
Councillor Phil Taylor, Cabinet Member for Customer and Community Services, said: “I attended the first event last year so I can say that this is a great way of trying out new sports and seeing what is available locally. This year's event is going to be even better and there will be lots of local clubs there that want to meet you. Everyone who tries something new will receive a Sports Jam goody bag.”
Entrance is via Popes Lane and there is a £3 parking charge.
