Record Number of Green Flags For The Borough

Parks and open spaces recognised in national award scheme

Green Flag awards scheme

Ealing has been awarded a record number of Green Flags for 21 of its parks and open spaces,
three more than last year.

This year, Blondin Park, Spikesbridge Park and Litten Nature Reserve have all been given a Green Flag for the first time.

Northfield hard Councillor David Millican said, '' I am absolutely delighted that Blondin Park has finally been awarded its Green Flag. As Northfield Councillors we have worked hard with local residents and the council parks team to ensure the park has steadily improved over the years.
''We have found resources for continual improvement over the years culminating in the Green Flag. We started with a hoggin path all round the edge; then a MUGA was added; upgrades to the children play area; plantings along the central sports area; the Windmill Road entrance was radivcally improved and most recently the wild life area has renovated.  When Brentford Festival could no longer be held in Boston Manor Park we worked with the organizers to ensure it came to Blondin Park.  All-in-all we are proud of the team work to improve our local park.''

Keep Britain Tidy’s Green Flag awards recognise and reward the best parks and green spaces across the country. A Green Flag flying is a sign that identifies the park for its high standards, is beautifully maintained and has excellent facilities.
