Local groups benefit from Grassroots Grants

Small voluntary and neighbourhood groups in Ealing are £25,840 better off thanks to the Grassroots Grants scheme, managed by Ealing & Brentford Consolidated Charity (EBCC) it was announced this week. The first set of grants are being given out to local groups, as part of the £3/4million Grassroots Grants scheme being run in Ealing over the next three years.

The scheme is part of a £130 million national drive by the Government to support thousands of groups and projects, working to improve their local communities.

Funding teenagers so they can play league football, helping children make the most of their education through out-of-school English and maths lessons, helping youngsters take part in a community play and a flower arranging club put on a great display’ are just some of the initiatives that are being funded.

Other charities awarded grants include: HADEA: (Horn of Africa Disability & Elderly Association) Acton.
Support for elderly & disabled people from Horn of Africa.

Lady's Creative Centre, West Ealing. Help for women from different backgrounds.

Stardust Mas and Pan, East Acton: Promote and teach Carnival Arts of costume making and steel drum playing to mainly young people

Youth Street Beats, West Ealing: Drama and other performing arts with young people.
