Don't Miss Your Chance To Hold A Street Party

Applications due on March 29

Ealing residents are being reminded to submit their applications to host a royal wedding street party by Tuesday, 29 March.

Residents in 13 streets across the borough have applied to the council to get approval to host a street party in their community and celebrate the royal wedding with their neighbours.

Each application will be considered individually, but where possible the council’s highways department will waive any fees, which would normally be charged. This will depend on the size of the party and the impact closing roads and public access will have on the local area. Anyone applying for permission to host a large scale party, with live music or alcohol, may need to apply for a temporary events notice.

Councillor Kamaljit Dhindsa, cabinet member for Customer and Community Services, said: “Street parties are a great way for neighbours to come together and celebrate the royal wedding and get to know each other.  We want to help as many people as we can take part, so don’t delay – get your application forms completed and sent in to the events team to avoid disappointment.”

To request an application form contact Ian Allchin on 020 8825 8016 or email allchini@ealing.gov.uk or log on to www.ealing.gov.uk/events for more information about events in the borough.

The completed application form will need to be returned by Tuesday, 29 March.
