Ealing police aim for trouble-free Notting Hill Carnival
Officers from Ealing Borough supported by colleagues from Territorial Police, the Firearms Unit (SO19) and the TSG executed search warrants across the borough as part of an intelligence-led pre carnival operation.
In the early hours of the morning of the 26th August officers raided four addresses and seized three firearms, rounds of live ammunition, and a quantity of various drugs.
Suspected stolen credit cards and mobile phones were also seized during the operation. Four men were arrested in connection with the items recovered (Three men, aged late teens-early 20’s and one man aged early 50’s). They are currently in custody at a west London police station.
The arrests have been made as part of a Met-wide operation in the run up to the Notting Hill Carnival to deter and arrest criminals and potential troublemakers.
Ealing Borough Superintendent John Corrigan said: “The arrests and seizure of firearms will go some way to ensuring a safe and trouble free Notting Hill carnival and will also make Ealing Borough a safer place. These intelligence-led operations have been put in place as part of our continued determination to make Ealing Borough a safer place to live, work and pass through."
He added that gun-crime would not be tolerated in Ealing Borough.
