New Chair for Creffield Area Residents' Association

The tram, conservation area status and sports facilities are all on the agenda

Creffield Area Residents Association appointed Ray Alcock as Chair at their recent AGM.  Ray takes over from Judge Paul Clark and was formerly the Association's Treasurer.

About 40 members of the Association were present out of a membership of some 250 households in the area, which is to the east of the North Circular Road (NCR) as far as Rosemont Road, to the south by the Uxbridge Road to the north by the main west country railway line. It has been in existence for more than 25 years.

During the meeting several subjects of local importance were discussed and reports presented including:

  • the proposed tram (the Association is against)
  • the forthcoming rebuilding of the bridges over the NCR
  • the use of the Twyford Avenue sports ground ( the Association is in favour of its continued use as a sports facility, particularly for children)
  • the recent extension of Conservation Area status to additional roads in the area and the implications for residents.

The aims of the Association, which is non-party political, are to foster and preserve the facilities and amenities of the residents and clubs in the area. For further information please contact the Chairman, Ray Alcock.
