Ealing Council & Action Acton work together on liveability project
Ealing Council, in partnership with Action Acton, has started a number of major projects aimed at revitalising Acton Town Centre.
In 2004, Ealing was awarded £2.875 million from the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister as part of the Liveability Fund. Ealing’s bid to the Liveability Fund focused on Acton Town Centre and the residential zones and open spaces nearby.
Amongst the projects being funded are improvements to the two open spaces on the corner of Crown Street and Mill Hill Road.
Crown Street links the Acton High Street to the South Acton neighbourhood and the Acton underground station. The two small open spaces on the corner of Crown Street and Mill Hill Road currently consist of a paved area with recycle bins and a small area of grass with a well-worn path.
The aim of the improvements is to provide two attractive, green parks with seating and new trees and to improve the tree planters down Crown Street, up to the Acton High Street.
There are four options to comment on. Your feedback will guide the Parks and Countryside Service in their final design. If you would a questionnaire or further information, please contact Richard Denny, ph 020 8825 5763 or email: denneyr@ealing.gov.uk
Closing date for responses is 18th July 2005.
