Tragic death of Kenneth Bailey from North Acton

Police are appealing for witnesses and information following a fatal road traffic collision involving an elderly man and a lorry.

They were called to reports of a collision involving a Ford Transit dropside lorry and a pedestrian at 11.00am on Thursday November 29 in Horn Lane, near the junction with Leamington Park, Acton W3.

On arrival police discovered a 76 year-old man suffering from multiple injuries. The northbound lorry collided with the partially sighted man as he was attempting to cross the road.

The man was taken to Charing Cross Hospital where he subsequently died on December 4th.

Next of kin have been informed and he has been formally identified as Kenneth Bailey from North Acton.

A post mortem conducted at Fulham mortuary today gave cause of death as multiple injuries. An inquest was opened and adjourned at Fulham Coroners Court.
