London Transport Museum is throwing open the doors to its Depot in Acton, from Thursday 21 to Sunday 24 April. Home to over 320,000 objects, this working collection store is a treasure trove of heritage vehicles, maps and signs, and the Museum’s world-famous poster collection.

At ‘The Art of the Poster’ Open Days this April, visitors can discover how art and design have uniquely characterised London transport over the decades.

Each day guests can tour the museum’s poster store – usually closed to the public – led by knowledgeable volunteers. Adults visiting on Thursday 21 and Friday 22 April can get creative at interactive poster making workshops with artist Emma Hockley. And over the weekend, a lively programme of talks with curators and artists will be on offer.

On Saturday 23 and Sunday 24 April, families can explore the Depot with a fun trail, create their own poster design to take home, and take a ride on the much-loved London Transport Miniature Railway.

Make sure to stop by the Depot Shop during your visit too. Browse transport inspired books, socks, cushions, kids toys and much more. Limited edition and framed prints, as well as reproduction posters, will be on sale at the art stall at bargain prices.

Timed tickets to visit the Depot must be booked in advance online. Adult day tickets costs £15 and tickets for children cost £7.50. Kids aged 3 and under go free. Concession rates are available.

If you are a local resident of Ealing, Hounslow or Hillingdon, take advantage of reduced residents rate tickets - £10 for adult and £5 for children.
