Visit The London Transport Depot Museum This September

A whole host of fun activities for all the family (Ad)

For four days only from Thursday 23 to Sunday 26 September, London Transport Museum will be opening its doors to their Museum Depot in Acton, West London, for visitors to get a get a chance to see and explore over 320,000 objects in the Museum's collection showcasing the Capital's transport history.

The theme for this autumn opening is 'Underground Uncovered' exploring the often hidden history of the Underground network snaking beneath our feet. Visitors will be treated to a jam-packed programme of mini-talks and vintage vehicle displays, as well as a whole host of fun activities for all the family. Whether you fancy attending a mini talk about topics from art and poster history or station architecture, taking to the driver's seat in a Victoria Line driving cab or exploring rare historic vehicles, there is plenty to keep you entertained.

For younger visitors, come and join a fun 'Down at the Depot' storytelling session for under 5s (Thursday and Friday only) or get crafty in a make and take 'Textured Tiles' activity on Saturday and Sunday and create a mosaic-style tile using collage and recycled materials. Plus, no visit to the Depot would be complete without a ride on the miniature railway!

As part of a visit, make sure to stop by the London Transport Museum shop, packed full of stylish gifts including original signs, moquette Tube fabric and other authentic items for sale all at bargain prices.

Timed tickets to visit the Depot must be booked in advance online. Adult tickets costs £15 and tickets for children cost £7.50. Kids aged 3 and under go free. Concession rates are also available.

If you are a local resident living in Ealing, Hounslow or Hillingdon, take advantage of reduced residents rate tickets - £10 for adult and £5 for children.
