Healthy Homes, Healthy Lives Event on 29th November

Discover how to "Stay Put" in your home and access home improvements (Ad)

The borough of Ealing has been selected by London Rebuilding Society working in partnership with the London School of Economics. The Healthy Homes, Healthy Lives (HHHL) programme is part funded by the government through Innovate UK. It was created by The London Rebuilding Society – a not for private profit organisation, that has been delivering home improvements for over 15 years.
HHHL’s objective is to enable older people to stay at home, independent for longer and to offer choices and options concerning their care in later life. It offers access to products and services commonly only available to the better off: access to home improvements, retrofit, renewables adaptations, and in-home smart technology.

Healthy Homes, Healthy Lives (HHHL) provides solutions for a frequently ignored population – older, low-income homeowners living in homes needing repairs and wanting to ‘stay put’, who struggle to access finance or who want to make their homes more energy efficient to help combat the spiralling cost of energy.

The vision is that older homeowners even on low incomes can use their asset wealth to transform their homes and lives without having to pay any money up front, as the costs are incorporated into the mortgage. As a ‘not for private profit’ provider, LRS support the homeowners, ‘handholding’ them through the process. To enable homeowners to raise the funds to repair and improve their home, LRS values the property as it will be after works are completed. Homes after work, have significantly increased value and that is maintained over time, providing homeowners with a home in excellent condition, and a valuable asset.
Southall Community Alliance are supporting this initiative in Ealing.

As part of this programme in Ealing, LRS are hosting an event for homeowners to learn more about the initiative.

“Older Ealing homeowners should have access to support and finance to repair and refurbish their home, and to make sure they have cost effective heating systems.

The London Rebuilding Society’s Healthy Homes, Healthy Lives scheme could help them to realise that goal.”
Naomi Kingsley, CEO London Rebuilding Society
