"Acton Regains Independence from Ealing"

As Waitrose announces it will be returning to Acton

The first instalment of ActonW3.com's amazing Christmas Giveaway brought some amusing and some serious headlines, including our winning headline above - which was by Jill Williams. Jill won our fantastic decorating starter kit worth £100 from Paint.

Amongst our favourite entries are the following:

"I would like to get the news from Ealing Council that they will back a Community growing area off Trinity Way, East Acton, around the flats."

"I would love to see "Ealing Council to Spend Whole Budget on Acton as they realise Ealing isn't more important"

(an emerging theme, perhaps?)

Also:

"Westfield to close following tough competition from Acton High Street retailers"!

But our second prize, £25 worth of L'Oreal Professional hair products from Anthony Bell, goes to Nicola Allday for her amazing effort which provided not only a headline, but the whole article as well. Here it is:

Russian Billionaires & A Listers seen queuing outside The Oaks Pound Land!

Forget Milan, Rome or even Paris, Acton is now one of the world’s most fashionable places to shop in the world. Locals are now used to seeing the likes of Victoria Beckham and Versace queuing around the block to shop at Acton’s Pound land shop in The Oaks shopping Centre. This has all come about due to 2010's new "IT" trend of shopping in pound stores and "getting the bargain".

Versace said " Acton is amazing, the most fashionable place to shop, it contains all the pound stores chains in one central location, its fantastic but I always totally blow my weekly budget of £10 as there is just too much choice"!

We'd like to thank the businesses who took part for their enthusiasm and generosity. Keep your eyes peeled for the next instalment of Acton's Amazing Christmas Giveaway.
