It may not feel much like summer but amazingly another year has gone by and it's time to party again.

The Acton Carnival - a vibrant celebration of culture and community - is happening Saturday 7th July.

Music, dance, community stalls and a funfair will all be on offer at this family-friendly event - all centred around this year’s theme of Love Acton.

Hosted by Acton Community Forum and Ealing Council, the carnival will feature a families area with face painting, kids activities and parent chill out zone.

The day will start at midday with a colourful procession of over 500 children and adults, who will travel from Woodlands Park down the High Street to the festival site in Acton Park.

A blend of local musical and dance talent including the Acton Music Collective, together with headliners Peter Hunnigale and Errol Dunkley and a lively soca feel brought by Tropical Storm band, as well as Triniboi Joocie and the Joocie Camp dancers.

Councillor Julian Bell, leader of the council, said:  ‘There is a fantastic collaboration of cultures at Acton Carnival, who join together to celebrate their diversities and everything that makes Acton a great community. The colourful and energetic parade is certainly a highlight of the day!’

Steve Flynn, manager of Acton Community Forum, said: This will be Acton Community Forum’s tenth carnival and it’s great to be able to continue the Love Acton theme. The annual Carnival brings Acton communities together in celebration, and we are looking forward to an enjoyable day for all the family."

Acton Carnival will run from midday to 7pm at Acton Park, Acton, W3. Entry to each carnival is £2 and children under 12 are free. A family ticket is £5, which covers entry for two adults and up to three children aged between 12 and 16 years.
