The artists who camped on their roof to raise enough money to turn their street into a Power Station
by adding solar panels to the roofs and made a film about it which has been doing the rounds of Britain and further afield now have a Crowdfunder with matchfunding to raise the money to add 50 more homes. They are now working to create a model which can be recreated even further around the country. They were featured in the Guardian and the Observer initially when they were camping out on their roof:https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2022/dec/18/power-to-the-people-the-neighbours-turning-their-london-street-into-a-solar-power-stationThey started with the houses on their street in Walthamstow and are now raising money to add another 50 houses in Waltham Forest..You can see all the venues where their initial film has been shown around Great Britain (Acton's ActOne was an earl one) and also where it is due to be shown:https://power.film/pages/screen-the-filmThey have just won another award from a film festival. You can set up and request a screening near you. There is often one of the artists or someone else involved in the making of the film or in the projects available to visit and introduce the film and answer questions.Their Crowdfunder still had matchfunding available last time I looked. This matchfunding which doubles your donation up to £250 is just available for a couple of days more and just the once to whoever makes the donation: https://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/p/power-50 Entire ThreadTopic Date Posted
