How about renting tax-free with the “rent a room” scheme?

I wondered if anyone has heard of this scheme:https://www.gov.uk/rent-room-in-your-home/the-rent-a-room-schemeIt means you can earn £7,500 a year tax free from renting out a room.I have a sensible, tidy, quiet, pleasant Eritrean refugee staying with me who would like to move on to rent under the scheme. He has a job at Nando’s and is studying data analysis as well. Good English. Anyone interested?

I think you would pay only a marginal rate of tax… so on income above £7,500. Which means it’s worth more…Also, it’s as a lodger, not a tenant or a share so the lodger has few rights. Which some home-owners prefer.

It is not really a rental scheme as such.It means however you rent your room you can earn £7,500 Tax free. Not much use in London as only £625 a month.
