Dan Crawford , North Acton Ward Councillor apparently removed as LAB candidate for the 2026 Election

If this doesn't tell you ALL you need to know about how Ealing Council Labour operates, then you need your head read.Dan has integrity, is always available & works very hard for his Ward constituents, and asks questions of his Liebore Party.It is so obviously the latter that has seen him sacked.We have a lovely Council.    🤣

My answer/thought is based on the case history, that I stated in my earlier contribution. Labour, in 2013, did not have as an overwhelming majority as they do now, July 2025, in the Council and on the Planning Committee. After the "Onkar Sahota Planning Application case", I know of one other Labour Councillor who it seems was sidelined after voting against that application. And I am not speaking of the Chair of that committee, Ray Wall. He is a lackey of the High Command of Labour run Ealing Council.Myself, I am not that keen on the Labour Party. I do feel that they have that air of moralistic superiorty about them, and will be very authoritarian about it, if necessary. And anyway, they "can't run a pissup in a brewery".

From what I have seen, Daniel and Kate Crawford have not ever sat on an Ealing Planning Committee since at least 2013. They seem too indepedent minded for the Labour Party overlords that run Ealing Council.In early 3013, there was an application by the then Greater London Assembly (GLA) member, Onkar Sahota (Labour) to extend an already majestic detached house he had bought on Castlebar Road, W5 even further. It was rejected by the Planning Committee. Cllr. Ed Rennie (Labour), Perivale Ward, voted against it, amongst others. He was deselected from standing as a candidate at the 2014 local elections. The then Chair of the Planning Committee, Ray Wall was kicked off from chairing the committee, for not getting the application through committee. He, it seems was not an effective enough a lackey for the Labour Party overlords that run Ealing Council. The Labour High Command at Ealing Council were not amused.Generally, the Labour Councillors that sit on the Planning Committee seem to act as if they were told how to vote. They do not seem to act as if they were advised to vote, but can come up with their own individual decision. They seem to be lackeys of the Council Leader and also to Idi Amin's illegitimate shortarse son. Idi Amin's illegitimate shortarse son used to be Chair of the Planning Committee from 2018 to 2021. At present, he sits in the Ealing Cabinet with responsibility for "good growth and new homes", i.e. planning.The Labour dominated Planning Committee just seem intent on meeting targets for superficial targets sake. The present council just seem to build death trap towers/rabbit hutched council tax farms just to feed money to the disingenuous virtue signalling top dog council nomenklatura. All this, so that they can endear themselves to developers at the expense of the people. Daniel Crawford, and his fellow councillor and mother Kate, seem to be too indepedent minded to fit in with the authoritarian wilfully inept Soviet style Jehovah Witness Labour run Ealing Council. That is probably why they have been deselected, just like Cllr. Ed Rennie (Labour) from Perivale Ward was before them.

Of course, Ms Brown, you don't at all consider Ms Nathan's posting to be "snarky".Lefties never would!  🤣I happen to know the reason/s, and will be complaining to Liebore HQ about the Party's appalling conduct.I am not saying what/why the reason/s are as I don't have permission to make public, but, trust me, it is utterly pathetic. And contrived.Just as you'd fully expect from The Liebore Hypocrite Party.  👌

Candidate selection used to be done by local Party members, but increasingly Labour ‘head office’ is intervening to scrub people from short lists based on their own interpretation of who’s ‘acceptable’. This usually involves rifling through candidates’ social media and past comments to ensure they ‘fully support the Party’.  Toe the Party line or you’re out!

Daniel Crawford, and his fellow councillor and mother Kate, seem to be too indepedent minded to fit in with the authoritarian wilfully inept spastic Soviet style Jehovah Witness Labour run Ealing Council.On 5th April 2023, at the Planning Committee Meeting, Daniel Crawford spoke against an application to build a high rise council tax farm on the corner of Horn Lane and Western Avenue (reference 224371FUL) in Acton. Good on him, and he seemed to irritate the double standards NIMBY chair of the Planning Committee, Councillor Ray Wall, as well.
