Pond in Acton Park

Evening all,Anyone know what has happened to the pond in Acton park (it has looked somewhat sick for a while now ) and if the council has plans to revive ?

I got an update saying they were going to replace the fencing "towards the end of summer".  I chased them a couple of days ago, as nothing was being done, and got this response: "I'm afraid EPF (Ealing Parks Foundation) don't have an update, but it is on our issues list for discussion with the parks service so won't get forgotten! FYI there are a number of personnel changes and recruitment underway at the moment. When posts are filled the parks team will be strengthened in number and we hope to see some benefits from this on the ground." So, don't hold your breath.

Pond a disgrace but to be fair Claire M, we had a response to the Padel court consultation saying our views had been taken into account and that wasn’t going forward - or at least not there.

I have been on the Ealing Wildlife Group FB page about this. It's a disgrace.  I've asked the council numerous times what the plans are, they just don't bother to answer.  It used to be teeming with wildlife and now nothing. Even the coots have left as there's no cover for them to nest.  It's been like this for maybe 2 years now.  Good luck chasing up. I've given up and this council will never get my vote.

And you will, Ms Gittins, because you're concerned and you CARE.I recall you were Editor some years back of a local rag or something and championed various causes of residential concern.We were under Liebore even then and, of course, fornication all was achieved under these Communists.We have a lovely council.    😂

I’ve been asking about this and received the following reply via a representative from the charity Abundance London who attends the parks forum meetings: “Fencing needs to be replaced. Old fencing removed to do dredging. Dye was put in to manage algae growth. Hence peculiar colour - it does go.”I suggested they put notices up explaining what is going on so that we are not all worrying some sort of environmental catastrophe has occurred. If nothing has happened to replace the fencing a month from now I will chase it up via the same route.
