Yes, there probably were too many coffee shops on Churchfield rd but we’ve now lost Zola, chimney cake and mill deli, and aquired 2 vape shops. Be careful what you wish for…

I don't get what the beef is with the vape shops - they at least look smart and clean.I get that we have this romantic notion of having a butcher, a baker and a candlestick maker on Churchfield road but these are tough times and any business that can operate at a profit and to their credit reinvest money on the shops appearance should I would suggest be congratulated.

Zola's is to reopen as a upmarket bakery I hear on the grapevine and of course we have Parakeets open now . So not all bad

Shop signs and frontages bigger than .3 square meters and anything illuminated require planning permission. There appears to be no application in the Ealing planning portal. It is possible that the new signage was erected without permission and is therefore a breach of planning regulations and if so we can notify the Council with the link below.https://www.ealing.gov.uk/info/201155/planning_and_building_control/2032/report_a_breach_of_planning_regulations If it is a breach, the owner would have to apply for retrospective planning permissionm to which we could object on the grounds that the signage and colour scheme are out of keeping with the character of area.

Not if it’s not change of use - which it doesn’t. One is actually a vape shop, the other still more of a general store with some re-branding.

How can that even be allowed ? Are there no regulations in place? Where could one object to this ?

Chimney cake is going to be replaced by flats. The Vape shops are an eyesore both in usage and appearance.
