Damp is one of the trickiest to get someone honest and who knows what they're doing, there's loads of "Experts" who are anything but.Maybe have a read of https://www.checkatrade.com/blog/hiring-guides/independent-damp-surveyor/ and make some informed enquiries is the best I can recommend, I don't know anyone in this game. 😊

Thanks, yes an independent damp specialist would be good - any recommendations? Have already tried the Chiswick site for good people, they seem few and far between, hence why I posted on here.

Do not engage a damp proofing company, they will only sell you product. Use a totally independent Damp Specialist. Check on Ealing and Chiswick sites for Electrician and Plumber/Heating Engineer, there's multiple recommendations for good people.
