Netherlands veers Hard Right.

When arguably the most affable, liberal and easiest going nation on the planet starts voting more Hard Right, do you think the PC Lefty Liberal Wokes will now woke up to the fact that they are out of touch and aren't representative of The Majority?

Bizarrely, there’s also the right wing group of Thierry Baudet: clever chap; no judgement. Manages to be anti-Europe, anti-Muslim and anti-semitic (except he likes my OH - a friend and colleague of his father)A student of Roger Scruton… there’s always someone weirder than the next one on the far and loonier right.

Dutchman here. It's not so much veering to the hard right. It's a lot more complicated than that. We know Wilders because of his right wing stance on Muslims, yet Muslims have now voted for Wilders as well. Turms out he also has some left leaning policies. The  vote share on the left increased as well. Turns out people in the Netherlands are tired of the same faces they have seen for 13 or 14 years and the incompetence that has come with it. The Netherlands will remain tolerant and easy going. As soon as Wilders starts on that, he'll be out

Sadly Rosco, I think that while Geert with his Right-wing Party may now be the majority party leader in Parliament, he will have to form a coalition to have a fully working government. Under Dutch politics, that is often not a quick process based on recent prior examples!

I doubt that many indigenous Dutch people are holocaust deniers as they suffered massively at the hands of the Nazis and many Dutch Jews were murdered by them.I could of course be wrong,but I would be surprised if so.

I find it interesting, and am not in the least surprised, that all Europe (the World?) seems to now be moving to the Right.You can only dictate to, and push, normal, quiet people so far, foisting highly unpopular ideologies upon them, before they get fed up and react?
