Agreed,Gareth.The only answer to the polarisation of groups is their coming together to find common ground to end their mutual mistrust and fear,supported by the wider community ie:the rest of society.

As has been said, fanatics on all sides need to be turned in by their own people. Until that happens, all the "coming togethers/peace vigils,etc" in the world ain't gonna stop a thing.

Pleased to say that there was a peace vigil attended by both Jewish, Muslim and other people united against hate this weekend in central London. Lets' be intolerant of intolerance from what ever quarter it comes.

Unless the moderate majorities on sides work together to identify and get rid of the extremism in their ranks,they become even more polarised from each other and everyone suffers,including the rest of society.An extermist doesn't walk around with a sign saying they are extremists,but those in their communities will know them and if they are really interested in peace,they will call them out.Until that happens,mistrust and fear will prevail.

it is very easy to stoke hatred and fear. It is not at all easy to replicate what we have in Acton, certainly in South Acton, where I live (and litterpick so get the chance to talk to everyone). There is a most wonderful mix of people of all faiths and none in our community.  Never take this for granted. Treat everyone with respect, engage positively with one and all and help maintain our fascinating, cosmopolitan energy and environment.  We are lucky.

Wouldn't it be better if you joined forces with the Jewish community in West London as antisemitic attacks in London are up 1,350%  and Islamophobic attacks up by 140%, according to the Police as reported in The Guardian today. Wouldn't it be great if both communities came together to fight hate from where ever it comes.
