Mosques repeatedly targeted!

Acton Mosque has been targeted a 4th time now. Council had installed a CCTV, not sure if the person has been caught on it, but the person is fully kitted up.I know some of you know me on here whilst others may not know me but I’m not part of a mosque but do have a good relationship with many mosques due to my profession as a tour guide who specialises in Muslim heritage in UK. I also work as an advisor in regards to Islamophobia with a specialism in converts.

May I suggest the Mosque opens its doors to pray for all the children lost in this terrible war? Invites participation from all religions and none. I've had a warm welcome every time I've visited the Mosque, and would gladly join in.

I think this thread has lost it's way a bit. How can we, as a community support those that that are subjected to hate? Those that are neither Muslim nor Jewish need to be vocal in discouraging hate towards either side. It's really important for our leaders to encourage cohesion at this point. None of us want our fellow Actonians to be attacked because of what's going on abroad.

The Palestinians are just pawns for HAMAS (and many others) as the lack of aid from surrounding nations will attest.I fear the Israelis have a few more weeks yet. Apparently they have some metal encrusted expanding foam bombs for the tunnels.

There will be many who  who barely gave a fig or were even aware of anything going on in the region who have now jumped on the bandwagon.I would like to know also what the other countries in the region are doing about this and why Hamas didn't stockplie food,meds,fuel etc and evacuate civilians before they took the action that did.And Israel needs to reign it in in a big way,stop the killing now.Enough is enough.

Please read the thread - I know women don’t it’s an illustrative point. I’m afraid a necklace is a lot more discreet a personal item not obviously visible like a kippah or hijab. I’m afraid diversity is nuanced  and complex - trying being for example a gay couple holding hands down Acton High Street. The looks and atmosphere of hospitality is oppressive. The solution is to confront hate from wherever it comes from including the Muslim community.

Women do not wear Kippot. I do however wear a clear and not small mogen dovid (star of David) round my neck and have done for the last month around Acton and across London, on the tube and in shops and restaurants.No reaction so far.

Your point is a very good one. Whilst it's relatively difficult to identify someone as Jewish, it is relatively easy to identify someone who might be Muslim.

Why don't you try wearing a kippah around Acton Sarah and see what the reaction would be then? I don't think it would be an entirely positive or comfortable experience. I'm of the view that some of these incidents are not what they seem at first site - there is a propaganda war being waged by both sides who are trying to portray themselves as the biggest victims.

As a member of the “small Jewish community” of Acton, I’m not sure that’s true.Apart from anything else, it’s small to non-existent round here: there are no places of worship or obviously Jewish businesses to target. But mosques, the Imam’s car and the pastry shop have all been daubed or damaged. Presumably by right-wing hate groups or people.The idiot flag-wavers on the night of 7th October (before any Israeli response) was concerning. But since that nothing round here and I have experienced nothing going about my business in town or going to synagogue frequently  in “little Lebanon” off the Edgware Road.

To be deplored absolutely but in Acton where there is a very sizable Muslim community it's the very small Jewish community lives in greater fear.
