Twelve Storey "Dark Kitchen" Tower for North Acton.

See story on opening page under "Property"Do these "Dark Kitchens" present particular problems? Increased vermin due to excessive kitchen waste, strong cooking smells, noisy lorry deliveries at all hours of the night, etc?Anyone know? I have no idea.It's gotta be hell actually living in this area now I'd have thought, not least because crime has gone up considerably.August 10, 2023 - Plans have been drawn up for a 12-storey building in North Acton which would contain 260 ‘dark kitchens’.These are commercial kitchens used to facilitate orders from online delivery apps such as Deliveroo and Just Eat.

The answer is deal direct with local independent food outlets rather than order through a food app. When a local food business is acceptable these multi-billion companies will approach them and ask them to come on board on very unfavourable terms. If they don't they will create set up a competing business in a dark kitchen to take market share.One of the great things about Acton is the diverse range of food choice we have from independent businesses in the area some of which offer exceptional meals. Use them or lose them.

I suppose them all being under one roof will have its advantages but the bigger picture of having food delivered by a bloke on moped, I do find somewhat depressing.Supply and demand I guess. Don't know what the answer is.
