Elizabeth Line: the least reliable in London

It’s so frustrating: £20 billion spent on cross rail yet, as the front page story tells us, last week there were serious delays EVERY DAY.And almost all the delays affect Acton Mainline.If there were more frequent trains scheduled to stop at our station, the frequent cancellations would have less effect.At the moment, the service - especially later in the day - is almost unusable unreliable. But nothing gets done…

Trying to get to Heathrow. Was a train we were told was between Paddington and Acton Mainline and it has vanished.The next train is delayed. No information as to how long.We may get compensation. Would rather get our flight.This line is a complete shambles.

Can barely call it a station- there’s no roof or shelter on the platform so it’s full of people waiting on the stairs for a train that never comes. And the stairs and overpass look cheap and temporary. Not sure where the money went but definitely not Acton

According to Aslef, the train that brought down overhead electric cables, causing chaos for hours, was being driven by a manager who was scabbing during the drivers strike. Luckily the manager is an operations investigations manager so he is uniquely qualified to investigate his own actions and what went wrong!

Yesterday was a new low - four hour delays between Paddington and Acton Mainline. It was a collapsing overhead wires problem though - that is network rail rather than tfl or attributable to the Mayor. Lack of investment into the infrastructure seems to have been at the root of the problem.Not that helps frustrated travellers.

Problems with railways are most likely to be with the trains or the signalling system. Unlikely to be the trains as they're new and if that were the problem we would have heard of a recall under warranty to correct the problem. Most likely the signalling system is the biggest issue. Crossrail was over budget and late, delays in the latter period being largely driven by the inability to make the new signalling system work with the existing ones. The prime suspect is therefore compromises in the signalling system to get it into service, the consequences of which are now being seen.Sadiq Khan bears responsibility for this as he was in charge of delivering the project and is now not being honest about the problems, leaving people like me with no technical knowledge of railways to try to guess what's happening from the meagre information available.

What do you mean "not helpful"?It's VERY helpful, a SOLUTION, get shot of Useless Khan at the forthcoming elections and replace him with someone whose focus and attention is on LONDON, and improving the lives of Londoners.You know, like getting tfl running properly, as you have mentioned, and tackling knife crime head on, etc, etc.Instead of Constant Self Promotion Virtue Signalling And Demonising Motorists.

TFL doesn't function acceptably because Khan is a Lefty Woke who couldn't care less about "Transport", he's only interested in his own personal agenda of career advancement and virtue signalling. He's an Olympic Level Grade A Twat.

Do you use a travel app like City Mapper? An alternative to Victoria Park would have been bus to Shepherd's Bush and then the Central Line.

Two trains an hour today - and none when I needed to travel.No Overground before 0900 on a Sunday.So to be at Victoria Park E9 for 0900, the only sensible options was to drive.Can’t use public transport if it doesn’t run when you need to travel.

Hopefully, the silver lining to the Friary Redevelopment will be, when its fully "stocked", the service magically improves along with an increased number of stops at AML?

If anything, it’s getting worse.Last two journeys in  for this household, the trains were so delayed, we got ones  slated to have departed ages previously. One day this week, they just weren’t stopping at Acton Mainline at all: train to Ealing Broadway and bus back.No way to run a railway.Especially a shiny, new, expensive one like this…

We were told earlier this year that the problems at Acton Mainline were residual snagging issues and there would be improvements. If memory serves me right November was given as the time when these would be resolved so hopefully things are about to get better.
