This is a good bit of Lib Dem scare-mongering, and I’m surprised their leaflet didn’t have any of their misleading bar charts as well! The likelihood of Acton Park being built over with tower blocks must be negligible. However, that designated Metropolitan Open Space (MOS23) also includes the sports facilities to the east of the actual park. That area has over time become built over with several private sports-based buildings and car parks, making it no longer a genuinely open space accessible to the public. That’s probably why it no longer meets the definition of an MOS, which I imagine Ealing’s formal document explains. But that wouldn’t make such a good pitch for the Lib Dem’s pamphleteering.
